WOLF JETT:
After leaving San Francisco to travel and busk for a year through Spain and Portugal by bicycle, Chris Jones (leader of long-time SF band Scary Little Friends) starts a new project infusing folk, soul, and blues into the sound of Cosmic Street Gospel in March 2019. He teams up with longtime musical collaborator Jon Payne (Painted Horses, Bryn Loosely) to create a supergroup of local Santa Cruz mountain musicians featuring Jeff Kissell (Marty O’Reilly & the OSO, MAJK) on bass and Will Fourt (McCoy Tyler Band, Down Beets) on guitar/dobro.

They record several live performances in Jon’s spectacular home, dubbed “House on a Hill”, in Boulder Creek CA. After planning a record release that includes three multi-state tours and various festival appearances, Covid brings the world to a screeching halt. So, what do Jon and Chris do? They build a full analog studio at House on a Hill and complete it just in time for it all to be consumed in the CZU Lightning Complex Fires. Despite these hardships, the band continues forward with the release of their first album featuring James DePrato (Chuck Prophet), Stelth Ulvang (Lumineers), Jan Purat (AJ Lee & Blue Summit), Lorenza Loera (CA Honeydrops), and Eric Yates (Hot Buttered Rum), as well as a new live video with the T Sisters, filmed among the ashes where House on a Hill once stood.
