Son Ravello is the newest project of American singer-songwriter and composer Michael Paul Caruso. Caruso dreams about ocean waves almost every night and his songs reflect the soothing sounds and heartbeats of the sea. Caruso currently lives in Oregon and has performed in many productions at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. He was the lead singer/guitarist for the indie folk trio Kites & Crows and still performs some of the songs from that project.
Originally from Littleton, Massachusetts (a rural town west of Boston), Caruso delivers a poetic sensibility. His fascination with coastal living offers mellow and picturesque dynamics to his lyrics and melodies. With his signature kick drum, dynamic acoustic guitar and intimate baritone vocals, Son Ravello serves up a heartwarming and meaningful repertoire.
Caruso founded a full service music house that has produced music for major network television shows, film and media. His music has been featured in TV shows such as Blindspot (NBC), Dateline (NBC), Reign (The CW), NatGEo Wild and more. Caruso also writes a blog entitled #MusicMakesTheMoment which focuses on the convergence of music with media, fitness, weddings and the soundtrack of our lives.
Destination is the first track that Caruso created for Son Ravello at the end of 2015. It signified a time of great change in his life which coincidentally propelled him to dissolve Kites & Crows and start in a new direction. Destination speaks to looking at where he had been and what he had created, to looking ahead at what he wanted to create. In this instance, the destination is Ravello, a picturesque town in Italy that serves as the idyllic manifestation of these visions he has for himself.
