Join Red Light Lit for an evening of storytelling, poetry, and a musical set by BISI. Featuring writers Kimberly Gomes, Jennifer Lewis, Loria Mendoza, Tanis O'Connor, Anil Prajapati, Jennifer Ruby, and Mackenzie Studebaker.
Red Light Lit is devoted to writers, artists, and musicians who explore love, relationships, sexuality, identity, and gender. Since our founding in 2013, we have published 10 literary journals and produced over 100 live shows(including in Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Portland, San Francisco, and Seattle). In 2019, Red Light Lit published the poetry anthology Love Is the Drug & Other Dark Poems; and in 2020, it published Unearth [The Flowers] by Thea Matthews, its first single-author poetry collection.
Bisi is a Nigerian and American world music fusion artist using his sound as an intersection for movement and philosophy. He is a globetrotting performer, dancer, explorer, and songwriter. He has an expansive solo and creative collaborative career including 4 EPs, co-hosting an arts and diversity-driven variety show, and endless live performances. He works with Glide Memorial Church which has given Bisi access to a powerful platform to build and uplift the community through art and a commitment to social justice. Bisi is known for his warmth, unrelenting work ethic, incredible talent and adaptability, and mutual reverence for young folks.
Red Light Lit is a small press and reading series based in San Francisco. It is a collective of artists who explore love relationships, sexuality, and gender.
