Echoes & Artifacts is the musical collaboration of singer-songwriter and multi-media visual artist Allyson Makuch and guitarist and singer-songwriter Rory Cloud. Echoes & Artifacts create forward-looking acoustic music with deep roots and diverse influences, with powerful, captivating live performances.

As a duo, Allyson and Rory bring a modern, harmonically rich approach to their arrangements both instrumentally and vocally. The music itself is a blend of intricately interwoven guitar lines, soaring melodies and delicately arranged vocal harmonies, with deeply poetic lyricism and compelling storytelling. The two guitars often work in counterpoint to one another, both harmonically and rhythmically, creating levels of complexity that, while subtly crafted and performed, give the songs an excitingly lush, fully-formed quality, even in their most stripped-down, acoustic formats.

An Echoes & Artifacts show is as joyous as it is cathartic, filled with humor and a willingness from the performers to get real with their audiences. At moments it's not uncommon for those present to feel instantaneously transported to a stand-up comedy set between songs, with Allyson's fearless humor and charm bringing an emotionally harmonious balance to the tone of their shows from start to finish.

Over the last couple years the band has been mostly dormant on the scene, with only a couple scattered appearances between 2021 and 2022, but in the background Allyson and Rory have continued working on new material and pre-production for a future full-length album. These new songs, along with material from the last several years as a band will be performed at Lille Aeske on October 8th, marking the band's first performance back at this wonderful mountain venue since early 2020.
