Joseph Jason Santiago LaCour is a Spoken Word Poet and Hip-Hop Artist from the Midwest now living in Santa Cruz. A Filipino and French Creole Mestizo, he has struggled as a young parent and worked countless jobs. Today, his Daughters are grown, he has true love in his life and he wants to share his art, his heart, with you.
Sacred Poets, created with his twin flame partner and fellow artist, Rica De La Luz Smith, is a vehicle for their shared expressions.
As a member of The Legendary Collective and co-curator of The Santa Cruz Word Church, a weekly poetry event at The Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History, Joseph consciously works to contribute to a strong community of Artists in Santa Cruz. He has been awarded a grant from Arts Council Santa Cruz County and is open to connect.
